September 23rd, 2005 This week

this week…
My diary has been visited more than 900 times in the first two weeks of this month! That is an average daily 75 people visits. Last month was over 1000 too. It’s scary, isn’t it?
Anyway, I haven’t yet break W’s record of over 1000 visits a day!

Bought an iBook. I hesitated for very long for whether buying Mac mini or ibook is better. But finally I believe iBook is a better choice, that I can use it in other places easily.

The design of MacOSX is really cool! I like that F11 very much. And I like the idea that the airport wireless LAN card is invisible from its outlook. It can detect the network atuomatically, without any need of configuration! I get to know how to use the essential functions in just half an hour, that’s really user friendly. It’s awesome! Well-designed! Windows is really rubbish!

Prepare for CE lesson. I really like troubadour music very much.
I figured out I can export “csv” file in Excel, and Yahoo mail can import csv file as address book easily!
I can now type all contacts in Excel and then export it as a mailing list.
no need to add in Yahoo one by one.
But I’m wondering how can I can write to “undisclosed-recipients”…
such that the long list of names can be hidden.
I don’t know how to do that.
And last last week, I learnt to print many address labels in a sheet using Excel + Word too.
There seems to be a lot of hidden functions in Excel.

Taught music compo / arrangement class in a secondary school. Their equipments are really new and extravagant. A band room with drum-set and a recording room with total sound-proof! One computer + one MIDI keyboard for every student! Every student learn to use Cubasis. They are even more familiar with the program than me. I didn’t teach quite well. Boring and poorly organized. And not yet break the ice with students. Hope next time better.

Met with friends in Universe home in Autumn Festival. A homet library for Jazz music, so many CDs, DVDs and books! And the awesome Triton keyboard and Roland monitor speaker. I hope to have a better machine when I have time to learn… Watched a lot of DVDs: Carlifornia Dream, Bill Evans in his old age (with beard, look like 金毛獅王!), Bobby Mcferrin+Chick Corea, a guy who played electric guitar like a keyboard (only press without plucking! forget his name). Eat Pizza Hut.

Still lots of arrangement jobs in hand. I must learn to say no. Otherwise I will need to declare bankrupcy. I can’t become a “good person” in everyone’s eye. I’m still longing for a stop, to free my life from work. And I will leave HK for 4 days and return on next tuesday.
